Story of the instant film: The best part of shooting experimental color instant film like Impossible’s one is that you will never get the same colour palette over the different batches and time of year. Sometimes it will fit the scene nicely, but the rest of the time you can somehow be disappointed. Once again, that’s part of the game of shooting instant film (which is always being developed). I have to admit that when they film lost its colour saturation (around August 2014), we couldn’t really tell it was a color film. Anyway, the team in Enschede’s last Polaroid factory in the world are doing their best to find a newer, brighter and faster chemestry for their Color film. On the other side, about Polaroid 600 film, I would have loved to shoot more of this magical product. Both film are very different! But as I talked with a lot of other Impossible film shooters, the September 2015 batch looks a lot like the beloved Time Zero film Polaroid used to produce, in terms of the palette. The development time still being a bit long, and you cannot manipulate the film while it develops. Looking forward for a new formulae from Impossible in 2016! :D
